TheLOSS of Spring!

Friday April 25th, 2008...It fell out of the sky! Ruining the spring, covering the grass, freezing the birds...and it was no dream, but a living nightmare!!! The WINTER that will not die!!!

Spring is here

Last summer/fall I spent hours gaining the trust of a couple of silly chipmunks. They hid amongst the wood stacked by the garage and waited for the corn and sunflower seeds that I fed them. When the blustery days came in late fall, the chipmunks were gone. This morning they were at the 'back door' begging for attention and food! We will see 'full cheeks' once again!

Fairy Name

close to ancient monuments and stone
My fairy is called Pagan Goblinwand.
She is a bringer of riches and wealth.
She livescircles.
She is only seen when the seer holds a four-leafed clover.
She wears raven-black feathers.
She has gentle green wings like a butterfly.

My Special Order from BBest Member jnoriginals

When I saw the awesome work of JN Originals from the BBest on Esty.com, I just knew she could make the Pansy of my hearts' desire. This crocheted and felted Pansy is both a wall hanging and/or a table centerpiece. Right now it's on the wall over my shop entry door to bring good luck, just like a horse shoe...only this is SO MUCH PRETTIER!

Craft Fair Earring DISPLAY

Made from ordinary wooden embroidery hoops, with some black velvet (any color you choose) in the hoop...I used stretch velvet, this display for pierced earrings travels well and can be hung or leaned against a back drop. Make several in different sizes for your next craft fair.

When Life gives you lemons, Make a Snowman

After yesterdays spring snowstorm, there was 23" of wet snow to get rid of...here is my way of doing it!

Winters Last Hurrah

When all was said & done on Sunday, April 6, 2008, Bemidji made National headlines with a record 23" snowfall! VERY DISAPPOINTING, INDEED! Plans for gardening have been postponed...I can't even get the car out of the garage!

The wildlife did expect to be fed in spite of the storm. The squirrels dug through the piles of snow on the deck rails to find the seeds, but the birds wanted a snow free area which I did manage to find. The DEER amazed me! They rarely show up before dark, but often graze under the crab apple tree for fallen treats throughout the winter. I managed to get great photos of their snow storm visit, but failed to capture the younger ones' antics as they frolicked in the snow like lambs! It took away some of the disheartening effect of 23" of snow in April!

Spring "rain"

Yesterday spring was well on the way...there was talk of preparing garden beds; the robins were drunk on 'winter ripened' crab apples, singin' in the trees; it was cool shirt sleeve weather.

Morning brought the LATE "March going out like a lion" with more to come! THIS is Minnesota! We are teased with spring, then bounced back to reality...."No, not yet!"

I was sitting on that lawn chair JUST last night, sipping wine, watching the traffic go by: NO snow, No wind, just a cool spring evening! What the heck happened????!

Day One: The BEST of the Day

My life is simple: each day depends on the weather! Do I sew all day? Shovel snow?(NO!) or work(play) in the garden! When those ideas fall short, I craft or shop. SIMPLE!

Do you need something? Be it an item or a solution, I can usually offer something...it is just a matter of your acceptance.

Post or Email . . . . . . . I'm waiting to hear from you.
